With NY Fashion Week approaching it felt appropriate to start dreaming up gifts inspired by and that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to give to my Louboutin wearing Birkin toting friends (both of them). But regardless of who you hang with, I have always felt fashion epitomizes fun, fantasy, reinvention and escapism and if one interpretation doesn’t do it for you, there’s always another collection or another season right behind. So enjoy…or hang tight, there will be more to come soon enough or even better, chime in with a spin of your own.
Amazing Amulets: Not only are they gorgeous, but some of these gemstones bringing calm and balance and help do groovy things to your energy. Don’t buy into all that? Totally cool… they look fabulous with everything from jeans to dresses (I actually own #3 and just bought #4–not sure what I’m going to do with it yet).
Statement Cuffs: Nothing says chic quite like a cuff and there are so many ways to go–gemstone, tribal, classic, leather–why pick? Get a few to go with your mood or trade with your bud (we’re not too old for that, right?).
Sumptuous Scarves: I truly did not know where to start. From printed skulls to Hermes to infinity and ombre-ish…I LIVE for scarves once fall rolls around and don’t take them off until the sweltering summer heat makes it prohibitive. Some favorite scarf-gift memories if you’ll indulge me: I remember one trip to St. Martin, I brought back for my mom a fabulous purply Pucci scarf from Marigot that I still covet, and when I graduated from middle school, my dad gave me a fantastic feather themed Hermes silk scarf I still have today. That treasure has been worn as a belt, head wrap, neck tie and (in my younger years) make-shift halter–it came with this fabulous booklet on ways to re-imagine that lovely square piece of silk that I wish I still had.
So, suffice it to say I LOVE to give (and get) amazing scarves to my closest of friends and family so below are items I’ve picked out–some are indulgences if I had infinite pockets–along with other more reasonable but still fabulous finds.
