About

The Gifting Whisperer started off as a blog providing gift-giving ideas and inspiration through the prism of my everyday life and experience as a 30-something New York City working, divorced and remarried mom of two.  The premise was “my life through a veil of tissue paper and a web of ribbon.” For more context on that, you can read my very first post.

Well I remain a working New York City mom of two who is still happily remarried, but I’m now about to be more like forty-something and so that prism has changed. Over the last few months I noticed my posts were becoming more about what was happening in my life, my personal perspective and less parties and gift guides. Maybe some readers left… and I’m ok with that, but I had to address the focus and then the look since it started to feel like an elephant in the room every time I went to publish.

So… The Gifting Whisperer is about appreciating every new day as a gift, that’s why it is called ‘the present.’

As for the look, I’m pretty happy with it, although it may continue to evolve.

Thanks for reading, as always.

About Me
I’m a Native New Yorker (yes we exist), married mom of two amazing kids (and my husband is wonderful too–he even helped me write this post), still living in New York City (we don’t all move away). I love to have fun gatherings and enjoy finding gifts for people important to me. Along the way I’ve learned a thing or two about myself, about life and what to do (and not to do) from those experiences.

What I’ve Learned
I think personal time and attention is priceless and in scarce supply, so when you give, do so selflessly but wisely. Making people you love feel special by showing them you know who they are and what is important to them will mean more than showing them you’ve spent gobs of money.

Oh, and this is the tattoo I mention in this post, so now you know a little more about me.

Affiliate Disclaimer So We Can Stay Friends
I only write about things I love, would want to give or get and think would be valuable to gift-givers. In the past, this blog occasionally used affiliate programs. This means that on some older posts, when you clicked on third party links and made purchases on certain sites that are mentioned (and directly linked to) in some posts a commission may have resulted that was credited to Gifting Whisperer. Those posts are demarcated in the footer with a link to these Affiliate Disclaimers so you will know if a post might contain any such links.  Furthermore, I am not participating in these programs anymore.   If you have questions about any affiliations on this blog, please Contact Gifting Whisperer. Thanks for reading and for your support.
